Welcome! My name is Josie Broyles, and I am a current senior at the Media School at Indiana University, majoring in Broadcast Journalism. I specialize in sports broadcasting and am passionate about sports storytelling. During my time at IU, I have worked as a sideline reporter for Big Ten Plus and as a beat reporter for IU Student Television and IU NewsNet, covering Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Soccer, Baseball, Volleyball, Softball, Wrestling, and Track and Field.
I have been fortunate enough to work internships such as a Production and Talent Development internship with FOX Sports, an editorial internship with Press Pass LA, a Multi-media Sideline Reporting internship with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod Baseball League, and a Digital Marketing internship with Subtle Haus.
As a female sports reporter, I have discovered a passion for female recognition in the sports industry. During the summer of 2025, I started my very own podcast, "Fierce in the Field," an interview series with women working in the sports industry today, paired with women's sports updates. I have also promoted the podcast across TikTok and Instagram to build an audience.
Take a look at my packages, broadcast reel, resume, and social media content across this website.
Cheers, Josie
From live sideline reporting to branded content and podcast production, here is a snapshot of the services and skills I bring to every assignment.
Live, on-camera sideline coverage for collegiate and professional sports broadcasts. Experienced with Big Ten Plus, ESPN+, FOX Sports, including pre-game, halftime, and post-game player and coach interviews.
In-depth story packages, feature profiles, and game coverage for broadcast and digital platforms. Skilled in research, scriptwriting, field production, and editing.
End-to-end podcast production, social media content strategy, and short-form video creation. Creator and host of "Fierce in the Field," with cross-platform promotion across TikTok and Instagram.
I walked into the Media School at Indiana University in 2022 knowing I loved video and broadcasting. Choosing journalism felt natural, and finding my place in sports journalism quickly became home. I was immediately pulled into covering women's soccer and went on to report on basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, and more. But women's sports always stood out.
As a woman working in a male-dominated industry, I often found myself on all-male crews and in classrooms where female voices were few. While those experiences shaped me, they also highlighted a gap, both in coverage and in community. I wanted a creative space that centered women, not as an afterthought, but as the focus.
Listen on SpotifySideline reporter for ESPN+'s coverage of the NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament.
Worked as a paid member of the production team on FOX Sports' first-time coverage of the Indy 500, and served as a runner and production assistant on NFL gameday coverage of the Indianapolis Colts.
Social media strategy, content creation, and brand marketing support.
Hollywood-based production support and on-air talent development within the FOX Sports broadcast ecosystem as a paid intern through The Media School.
Red carpet coverage of Hollywood events and celebrity interviews, along with online post-event story writing and social media content.
Sideline reporting, social content creation, and game-day coverage of the college baseball superstars competing in the country's most time-honored and prestigious summer league.
On-camera sideline reporting for Big Ten Plus. Beat coverage of IU athletics across multiple sports including basketball, soccer, baseball, volleyball, softball, wrestling, and track and field.
